Pay What You Will: Marie and Rosetta

A special performance at Asolo Rep in collaboration with the Sarasota African American Cultural Coalition

Join Asolo Repertory Theatre for a special Pay What You Will performance of Marie and Rosetta—an opportunity to experience powerful, world-class theatre at a price that works for you.

For one afternoon only, every seat is available at the price you choose, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Sarasota African American Cultural Coalition (SAACC). This meaningful partnership supports SAACC’s ongoing work celebrating and uplifting African American arts and culture in our community.

Marie and Rosetta brings to life the electrifying story of Sister Rosetta Tharpe—the godmother of rock ’n’ roll—and her protégé Marie Knight. Together, their music reshaped the sound of American popular culture, blending gospel, blues, and early rock in a way that still resonates today.
