For nearly twenty years, Angel Hissom championed Asolo Rep’s belief that theatre has the power to educate, inspire, and transform lives. Established upon her retirement, the Angel Hissom Education Circle honors her remarkable legacy by supporting the full continuum of learning and artistic development at Asolo Rep—from student matinees and school programs to scholarships, conservatory training, and lifelong learning opportunities for our community.
In many ways, this initiative reflects Angel herself: a belief that theatre education is not a single moment, but a lifelong journey—a through line that connects curiosity, creativity, training, and artistic excellence.
Through the Angel Hissom Education Circle, her legacy will live on in every student inspired, every artist trained, and every future audience member who discovers the transformative power of live theatre.
