Asolo Rep’s inaugural Play Reading Club brought together theatre lovers for an engaging exploration of the work of acclaimed playwright Lauren Gunderson, one of America’s most-produced living playwrights. Guided by James Monaghan, Asolo Rep’s Director of New Works and Dramaturgy, participants read and discussed six plays from Gunderson’s celebrated body of work, examining her distinctive voice, themes, and storytelling style.

The series also connected participants with live productions, encouraging attendance at Exit, Pursued by a Bear at the FSU/Asolo Conservatory and the Rolling World Premiere of Lady Disdain at Asolo Rep, creating a deeper appreciation for Gunderson’s work both on the page and on the stage.
